High School Astronomy is a 12-week Earth & Space Science course focused on the study of the universe beyond Earth. Students explore celestial motions, the Earth–Moon–Sun system, the solar system, stars, galaxies, and cosmology. Emphasis is placed on scientific modeling, data analysis, scale, and the use of evidence to explain astronomical phenomena. The course is aligned with Pennsylvania STEELS and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
Weather & Meteorology

Course Description
Meteorology is a 12 week high school–level Earth & Space Science course focused on understanding the atmosphere and the processes that drive weather and climate. Students investigate atmospheric structure, energy transfer, air masses, fronts, severe weather, forecasting technologies, and human impacts on the atmosphere. Emphasis is placed on data analysis, modeling, real-world applications, and alignment with Pennsylvania STEELS and NGSS standards
Geology & Oceanography
(Geology Concentration)
Grade Level: 10–12
High School Geology & Oceanography (Geology Concentration) is a 12-week Earth & Space Science course with primary emphasis on Earth’s solid surface and internal processes, while incorporating oceanography to support understanding of plate tectonics, seafloor geology, coastal processes, and Earth system interactions. Students study minerals, rocks, geologic time, plate tectonics, natural hazards, and Earth resources, with ocean systems used as real-world contexts. Instruction is aligned to Pennsylvania STEELS and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), emphasizing data analysis, modeling, and application of geoscience concepts
